Who am I?
To try and show the type of player and person I am, my friend interviewed me on, I hope, the sort of questions that may be of interest…
What motivates you to work hard in golf?
I am so grateful that I found this sport. I never forget how lucky I am to play, even when things don’t go to plan. What motivates me most is being able to look back and see the progress I’ve made — knowing that the work I put in really does make a difference.
What are your biggest strengths on the course?
My dad calls me the “ice queen” because of how calm and focused I am when I play on my own. I stay composed, make smart decisions, and don’t let emotions take over. My strengths are consistency off the tee, solid iron play, and staying steady under pressure.
What part of your game are you currently improving
Over the winter of 2025/26, I’ve worked really hard on my shots into the green. I use UpGame to analyse my performance, and it clearly showed where the biggest opportunities for improvement were. I enjoy the process of breaking things down and rebuilding them with purpose.
Describe a setback you’ve overcome and how you dealt with it
In January 2023, I had major surgery and couldn’t pick up a club for eight months. It was incredibly difficult watching everyone else train and compete while I had to start again from scratch. But the experience taught me resilience. I committed fully to my rehab, stayed patient, and focused on small daily goals. The desire to return — and to return stronger — showed me how dedicated I am and how much I love this sport. It reinforced my “never give up” attitude.
What is your favourite golf memory?
My favourite memory is playing in County Match Week for Cheshire. It was a series of pairs matchplay games, and when we weren’t playing, we could support our teammates. The atmosphere was fun, positive, and incredibly supportive. Getting a hole‑in‑one during the event made it even more unforgettable, but sharing that moment with the team made it even more special. We won our match and celebrated both at once.
What is your greatest achievement?
2025 was a really good year for me with so many great results. Winning the Frank Stableford Ladies Open at Wallasey was a real highlight. It was a national competition with a really strong field. It was incredibly windy and we played from yellow tees. I was thrilled to learn I had the lowest score and cried when I found out. I love Wallasey Golf Club and was so proud to be asked to be Junior Captain for the 2025 season.
What do you enjoy most about being part of a team?
I love the strategy and connection that comes with team golf. Understanding each other’s strengths — and how to use them effectively in a pairs match — is something I really enjoy. I like supporting teammates, celebrating their good shots, and helping each other stay positive. Even though I’m very focused when I play individually, I thrive in a team environment where everyone is working toward the same goal.
What are your academic interests and goals?
I’m a disciplined student and really enjoy maths, science, and Religious Studies. I hope to study Maths, Biology, Physics and Religious Studies at A level from September 2027. I hope to study maths at University because I love problem‑solving. I’m on track for strong GCSE results, which translate to roughly a 3.7 GPA equivalent. My results are due in August 2026.
Balancing schoolwork with golf can be challenging and requires planning and discipline. I’ve learned how to manage revision, homework, and training, even when it means I can’t always do everything my friends are doing. It’s taught me responsibility and how to prioritise what matters most. I make mistakes but I try hard to learn from them.
Why do you want to play college golf in the United States?
I want to compete at a high level while continuing my education, and the US college system offers the perfect combination of both. The team‑focused environment, high‑quality coaching, and strong academics really appeal to me. I’m excited about the opportunity to grow as a golfer, a student, and a person.
